Description

Funeral hearse vehicles are specialized for the transport of deceased individuals. They are a type of “special-purpose vehicle” in the form of a van, dedicated to funeral services and used by crematoriums and funeral homes. Equipped with a fixed placement for the body box and separate seating for mourners, these vehicles also feature facilities for storing high-end funeral ceremonial items. The main components include the vehicle body, body box, low-temperature device, sterilization and disinfection equipment, and seats. The body box, low-temperature device, sterilization, and disinfection equipment are used to preserve the original color and appearance of the deceased, prevent decomposition, and avoid environmental pollution.

Funeral hearses are designed to allow friends and relatives of the deceased to view the remains. The body box is equipped with a skylight, and around it, there are handrails, railings, and seats for the funeral procession. Typically, a row of single seats is set at the front of the body box (the front of the vehicle) for the elderly and infirm; several seats are also arranged on both sides near the front for close relatives to accompany the coffin; the rest of the sides are fitted with folding benches that can be flipped up when not in use. The overall styles of funeral hearses include truck-style and passenger-style variants.
