Daimler Special Trucks Showcases Full Range at 2025 German Demopark Expo
Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks is set to present over 20 Unimog implement carriers, the all-electric eActros 400, and the municipal Arocs at the 2025 Demopark International Horticulture and Landscape Expo in Eisenach (Booth B243). The exhibit highlights year-round multifunctional solutions for landscaping, winter snow removal, road construction, transportation, and irrigation.
Full-Season Lineup: 20+ Unimog Customized Models
The showcase features diverse Unimog-based configurations, including landscaping variants equipped with mowers, irrigation systems, wood chippers, ditch cleaners, and sweepers, as well as winter service models with snowplows, spreaders, and snow blowers. The Unimog U5023 off-road edition will demonstrate its crane and self-recovery winch in the outdoor exhibition area.

Low-Loading Platform: Unimog U219 Innovation
The Unimog U219 debuts a factory-preconfigured chassis height and specialized wheel-tire setup, lowering its rear loading platform to under 1.2 meters—a 20 cm reduction from standard models. Paired with Eggers’ custom mid-frame platform, the design enhances loading efficiency for construction and municipal operations.
Smart Interaction: Uni-Touch OS & GSR Safety Compliance
The new Uni-Touch system streamlines equipment control via a rotatable touchscreen, sliding console, and multi-function joystick. Customizable workflows and stored operation sequences replace traditional keys, while an ignition button and door control panel optimize ergonomics.
To comply with the EU’s General Safety Regulation (GSR 2019/2144), all models feature side monitoring assist, frontal collision warning, traffic sign recognition, rear cameras, and tire pressure monitoring. GSR mandates 11 active safety systems—including intelligent speed assist, pedestrian-detecting emergency braking, lane-keeping, and driver fatigue monitoring—for vehicles sold in the EU from 2024 onward. Commercial vehicles also require blind-spot detection and side guards. The regulation aims to reduce EU road fatalities by 24%, aligning with the "Vision Zero 2050" target.

Winter Service Stars: Arocs & eActros Electric Solutions
The eActros 400 electric truck completed a five-month winter trial with Germany’s Münchberg Highway Authority, logging over 8,000 km in snowplowing operations. The exhibited model features a 4.5-meter plow, 6 m³ salt spreader, and 2,640-liter de-icing tank. Its electric chassis also supports summer tasks like green waste transport and soil irrigation via modular attachments.
Alongside it, the Arocs 2948 (6x4/4 drive) showcases its winter service adaptability with all-wheel front drive and a steerable trailing axle.
Strategic Focus: Daimler Trucks Strengthens Municipal & Specialty Segments
Daimler Trucks has elevated municipal services, fire/rescue, and landscaping to strategic priorities, restructuring teams to enhance support. The Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks division now oversees Unimog, Econic (including electric variants), and Actros/Arocs/Atego series (with EV versions) for specialized municipal configurations, expanding its all-scenario portfolio.
