Taizhou Launches First TIR Transport: Zhejiang Yunxing’s "Cross-Border Acceleration"

Time : 2025-05-24 Hits : 869

On May 20, 2025, Taizhou officially launched its first TIR-mode export shipment, establishing a new "highway" for "Made in China" to directly reach Eurasia and bolstering the Belt and Road Initiative with another robust tool. Leveraging the International Road Transport Convention (TIR), the TIR system’s "single inspection, full clearance" mechanism has slashed customs clearance times by 80%, while transport costs are just one-fourth of air freight. Its "door-to-door" consolidated shipping capability enables Taizhou’s specialized export industries—auto parts, motorcycle components, and small commodities—to "share rides overseas," reducing logistics costs by 30%.

As the pioneer of TIR exports in Taizhou, this groundbreaking shipment, aimed at "paving the way," was undertaken by local logistics leader Zhejiang Yunxing Transportation Co., Ltd. (hereafter "Zhejiang Yunxing"). Founded in 2007, the company has built a nationwide transport network over years of operation. Now, Zhejiang Yunxing is leveraging its fleet strength, financial resources, and expertise to unlock TIR opportunities for Taizhou’s logistics sector, leading the charge for Zhejiang’s business legacy and propelling Chinese manufacturing onto the global stage.

To secure its role as Taizhou’s first TIR operator, Zhejiang Yunxing not only boasts formidable financial and operational capacity but also demonstrates strategic foresight. In recent years, the company has aggressively embraced digital transformation, upgrading systems for logistics information management, warehousing, GPS tracking, financial operations, and SMS notifications—laying a solid foundation for its TIR debut.

TIR road transport differs vastly from domestic long-haul operations, involving not only longer routes but also complex climates, weather, and road conditions abroad. For this maiden voyage, Zhejiang Yunxing meticulously researched vehicle selection, ultimately choosing TIR-spec versions of two domestically made premium trucks—the Shandeka G7H and FAW J7 tractors—paired with Anhui K-Luck’s TIR-specific curtain-sided trailers.

The tractors, the FAW J7 and Shandeka G7H, deliver 580 hp and 570 hp respectively. Both feature ZF automatic transmissions, air suspensions, and cold-weather optimizations, including insulation for sub-zero environments, independent heating systems, and reinforced components (fluids, wiring, axles, cooling systems, and mounts) to withstand harsh cross-border conditions.

The TIR-specific curtain-sided trailers incorporate triple safeguards for extreme environments:

  1. -40°C cryogenic-resistant composite materials for critical components, tripling lifespan against industry standards.

  2. Innovative triple-coating工艺: Primary parts undergo electrophoresis + topcoat, while fasteners use Dacromet coating, passing 3,000-hour salt spray tests to ensure decade-long durability against rain, snow, and corrosion.

  3. Customized side curtains with high-strength, cryogenic-resistant, and flame-retardant properties, plus an imported coating for aesthetics, abrasion resistance, and easy cleaning.

Notably, the trailer’s European-style full-load bearing structure and ultra-low gooseneck design lower the cargo bed height, boosting load capacity by over 15% compared to peers—maximizing value per trip.

Zhejiang Yunxing’s rigorous trailer selection reflects its stature as a local benchmark enterprise, prioritizing proven, market-tested solutions. Partner Anhui K-Luck entered the cross-border transport niche in 2021, developing TIR trailers now operating across Russia, Belarus, Central Asia, and South Asia. With a 70% market share in TIR curtain-sided trailers, K-Luck’s models have proven reliability over four years of real-world use.

Beyond hardware, Zhejiang Yunxing’s commitment to national policy drove this milestone. At the launch ceremony, General Manager Zhou Changhong stated: "Under China’s deepening Belt and Road Initiative, we aim to build an efficient international road transport system via TIR, bringing the world closer."

As an active Belt and Road participant, Zhejiang Yunxing’s TIR debut bridges the New Eurasian Land Bridge and the West Asia Economic Corridor. This shipment not only energizes Taizhou’s foreign trade but also underscores manufacturers’ resolve to integrate into global supply chains. As more "steel caravans" carry "Taizhou-made" goods across borders, Zhejiang Yunxing exemplifies how China’s logistics "speed revolution" is reshaping global trade.
